Just wanted to let folks know who are wondering about disclosing a bankruptcy during or after an offer stage.
I am in IT, got a job offer this past Friday and when I knew they were going to run a credit check when they did my background check(they flat out told me this when I filled out the background check paperwork), I called HR and disclosed my bankruptcy and told them the circumstances. They told me they did not hire based on credit, and the only thing I would need to worry about is if I was wanting to get a (totally optional) corporate credit card which I don't need anyhow.
Just some hope for folks out there in half blue/half white collar work.
Unless you know they are going to run a credit check in the background check, don't worry about it. When you know they are going to run a credit check, I would certainly bring it up to make sure you find out the answer rather than wasting your night worrying about it rather than losing much needed sleep!
Keep the faith!
